How I Use Star Wars in the Classroom

In the fall of 2014 I discovered "William Shakespeare's Star Wars Saga" and immediately fell in love. My 7th grade theatre class, which consisted of 22 boys, roared with approval when I began reading "Verily, A New Hope" to them, and asked if they wanted to perform the play on Parent Night. The next 6 weeks were incredible, and we performed Act I flawlessly! OK, it wasn't perfect, but the parents LOVED it! I teach grades 5 - 12, and will continue to include these books in my curriculum.
