I have used Star Wars in the classroom when we talk about archetypes, mythology, technology, religion, and government. For example, in World History we discussed Ashoka Maurya from the ancient Indus River Valley Civilization. I related Ashoka to Asoka. Not only do their names sound extremely similar, but there stories are comparable. Both believed in the order that they were fighting for only to be let down by that very same order. They both disappear for awhile only to show back up enlightened and helping people, whether directly through contact or by the words they share.
