Shakespeare's Star Wars

3/15/2014

If you're an ELA teacher and having difficulty getting your students interested in Ye Olde English and Shakespeare, try introducing them to Ian Doescher's William Shakespeare's The Empire Striketh Back. Not only is this a fun look at Star Wars, but a student's familiarity with the films may help them begin to find meaning in those strange words penned by Shakespeare. It might even be fun to have them take a stab at re-writing a Star Wars scene in the voice of Shakespeare.

Be sure to check out Ian's other book, William Shakespeare's Star Wars and the upcoming July release of William Shakespeare's The Jedi Doth Return.
