How I Use Star Wars in the Classroom

I teach English as a Second Language to recent arrivals--most of them are 16, 17, or 18 year-old students reading anywhere between 1st-3rd grade level in English. I found a great set of Star Wars book set with action movie stills for beginning readers. This is perfect for my students! It doesn't look elementary with cartoonish illustrations, and the reading level is appropriate. I will also use the complex plot and characters to teach literary elements.
