In science many of the principles that we are currently discovering can be tied into inventions that we see in sci fi. During my wired for art class kids are learning basic electronics to work on displays and in fact sculpt lightsabers and other blowy blinky things. In my hero forge fine arts class, kids are learning to sew costumes, create armor from thermoplastics and molds. In math, space battles provide a perfect chance to discuss velocity and other such programs.

Most of the things that I have actively going on are testing new ideas to see feasibility of generating a star wars themed art class. Some kids in in my "hero forge" class as well as my "wired for art" classes are making pvc light sabers much like in the summer camp.They learn to wire and do all the things I do with aluminum with pvc minus the sound boards. In science we are discussing the feasibility of lightsaber tech by Michi Kaku. Most of the recent things I did with the kids are from the summer camp and those can be found here.
